Unable to access UNRAID SMB Share in VMs

Been having issues trying to access my unraid shares with any VM I’ve created with Windows 10. I’ve tried tons of different options in the unraid community forum and none worked until I sutmbed upon this one. This should also work with non VMs and takes 5mins!

Open up the registry editor on the machine you’re having issues with. Click Start > type in “gpedit” and enter. This should open the registry editor.

Browse to:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters

Set AllowInsecureGuestAuth to 1

You shouldn’t have to reboot. Try to access your share again and it should let you through!
